Training for professionals

Our training is designed to create a stimulating learning environment which encourages reflection, challenge, sharing of best practice and personal development.

At the heart of our training ethos is the knowledge that good quality training for those working with young people helps to counter health inequalities and improve the wellbeing of young people.

We offer sessions throughout the year which individuals are able to book on. Please see the upcoming sessions below.

We are also able to provide bespoke training on request for organisations or professional groups – if you are interested in discussing this further please contact southwark@brook.org.uk.

Past sessions

31 July 2018 – Talking to Young People: Sexual Health
Our introduction to sexual health aims to enable practitioners working with young people to gain a basic awareness of contraception and STIs, to look at healthy relationships and support in identifying risky behaviours.

21 November 2018 – Supporting Young People: Traffic Light Tool
Our highly acclaimed Sexual Behaviours Traffic Light Tool supports professionals working with children and young people by helping them to identify and respond appropriately to sexual behaviours. • Make decisions about safeguarding children and young people
  • Assess and respond appropriately to sexual behaviour in children and young people
